Ernie’s Ices traces its roots back to the 1940s, when my grandfather, Ernesto Rocco Arcari, sold homemade ice cream from his vans alongside my father and his siblings - delighting both children and adults alike!
In 2022, I decided to honour my grandfather’s legacy by reviving Ernie’s Ices, bringing authentic artisan gelato and Italian-inspired desserts to a new generation.
After running a charming ice cream parlour for 18 months, I took the leap into vintage vans. When I discovered a beautiful cream-and-pink 1972 Bedford Morrison, I knew she was the one. I named her Trina in loving memory of my late sister, and she has been spreading joy ever since.
